Deep Shopify Integration
This integration has existed for years, and it’s been very solid and seamless.
In August 2022, Shopify and Klaviyo announced a strategic partnership. Shopify made a $100 Million dollar investment in Klaviyo.
This means Klaviyo will have early access to new development features within Shopify, which means we will probably see Klaviyo iterating faster than other platforms. We’ll also see alignment between the road maps of both companies.
With a “cookieless future” in front of us, stores should be focusing on building out their first-party data, and a strong relationship between these two platforms is going to help e-commerce stores do just that.
Segmentation & Personalization
The first-party data and customer profiles that Klaviyo allows you to build out are the backbone of their segmentation. We love segmentation because it allows us to personalize communication.
Klaviyo allows you to segment your email list based on a wide range of criteria, including purchase history, website behavior, and demographic information. This makes it easy to create targeted campaigns that are relevant and engaging to your customers.
Once again, if you’re integrating Klaviyo with your Shopify store, the segmentation gets even better, allowing you to use orders, purchases, revenue, and more to reach the right audience with the right message:
Klaviyo’s automation, called Flows, are very powerful.
Flows alone account for more than 10% of overall store revenue for some of our clients’ stores, so they should not be overlooked.

In terms of design and functionality, Klaviyo is user-friendly and intuitive. Its drag-and-drop editor makes it easy to create visually appealing emails, and it offers a wide range of templates to choose from.
Klaviyo’s editor is one of the best among the top email marketing platforms.
One specific feature that really stands out for Shopify users is the Product module. With a few clicks, you can insert a product from Shopify without having to locate the product photo, title, description, price, link, etc.
You can insert specific products, called Static, or Dynamic lists, like your best sellers. It’s a huge time saver and works in both Flows and Campaigns:
Before we talk about specific reports and metrics, let’s start with Deliverability. We’ve found Deliverability with Klaviyo sits at the top of all email marketing providers we’ve worked with. You have to end up in the inbox for this stuff to work.
In terms of reporting and metrics, you’ll get all of the usual stuff like Opens and Clicks.
Where it really shines is tying Revenue from email to your Shopify purchases. Metrics like Order Rate, Revenue per Recipient, Revenue by Flow, Revenue by Campaign, and others are game-changers.
The only downside, if any, is the cost. It’s can be slightly higher when compared to other email platforms. But… we’ve never talked to a client that didn’t see a revenue bump when switching to Klaviyo and no one has regretted it.
They truly see it as an investment, not a cost.
